Christopher M. Cannon is the president of strategic services for Zuri Group, an industry leader in fundraising strategy, technology, and operations. Prior to launching Zuri’s strategic services unit, he served clients around the world as a managing associate with BWF. In his two decades in the advancement industry, Mr. Cannon has been involved with hundreds of organizations which have collectively raised tens of billions of dollars.

His expertise includes fundraising systems and technology, innovation and trends, operations, change management, conversion projects, data and gift management, reporting and business intelligence, prospect development, and industry innovation. He wrote An Executive’s Guide to Fundraising Operations to help professionals understand how to leverage operations to raise more money. His unique strengths include facilitating productive relationships between board members, front-line fundraisers, advancement operations staff, and IT professionals. Mr. Cannon frequently guides clients through complex business process improvement, organizational change, technology transitions, and change management initiatives that increase productivity.

Mr. Cannon’s client work has included a diverse group of international and best-practice setting universities, colleges, healthcare organizations, and membership organizations. Cannon’s clients include Yale University, MIT, Georgia Tech, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Mercy Health System, Baylor University, SMU, and dozens of other leading fundraising shops.

Mr. Cannon holds a Master of Arts from The University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Truman State University. He is a featured speaker and writer for CASE, AASP, APRA, AFP, AHP and others.
