International Campaign Officer, Northfield Mount Hermon
Laurel Edson is the Global Engagement Officer for Advancement at Northfield Mount Hermon, a 9-12 grade independent boarding school of 650 students in Western Massachusetts. Current NMH students are from 57 different countries and alumni are from over 140 countries, forming the largest alumni body of an independent boarding school of over 30,000 individuals. While Laurel strives to bring together the NMH community across the entire globe in support of NMH’s comprehensive campaign, currently in its quiet phase, her work has been most recently focused in East and Southeast Asia. Before moving into her current role, Laurel served in roles of engagement and fundraising for NMH’s annual Fund. Laurel led NMH’s most successful giving days, one of which received a 2016 CASE District 1 Gold Excellent Award. Before returning to her alma mater of NMH six years ago, Laurel worked as Assistant Director of the Annual Fund at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Prior to Scripps, Laurel worked for the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation, based in Los Angeles, which supports access to free live music across America. When Laurel is not traveling on behalf of NMH or to an international yoga retreat or half marathon, she resides in southern New Hampshire, where she is originally from. In her local community, Laurel serves on the Board of Directors for the Camp Takodah YMCA and is a member of the Greater Keene Rotaract Club of Rotary International. She holds a BA from Scripps College in Psychology, with a minor in Music.
